Alpha 2021

Alpha 2021

Following from our Christmas services we wanted to give you all the opportunity to explore Christianity for yourself. to ask those questions you always wanted to ask; is it all fantasy? what does Christianity teach about unicorns, what does it really take to be a Christian? And so we are pleased to invite you to Alpha 2021.

How will it work?

Turn up at 6:30 pm, where we will be serving soup and bread, and just get to know each other a little first. then we watch a video to stimulate our conversation and then we explore the subject raised and more often than not end up somewhere completely different than where we were intending as people ask things and take things in the direction which they need to explore. we will usually aim to finish at around 8:30pm

So ask your questions, share your thoughts. there is no judgment, we are all exploring the faith together regardless of whether you have been a Christian for 47 years or just asking the question ‘what if’.

6:30 pm Tuesday the 12th then every Tuesday for 8 weeks!

Can I miss some sessions?

Alpha does work best if you can come to most sessions. it gives you the opportunity to get to know people, to get more comfortable asking questions, and it means you don’t miss anything. But if you can’t commit, don’t let that stop you! even if it’s just one session, come and explore, we would be delighted to have you!

who is it for?

It doesn’t matter if you are a lifelong Christian, or a hardcore atheist, or anything else in between. If you have questions then this is for you (and let’s face it, who doesn't ?).

Maybe you have done Alpha before, don’t let that stop you! We have new material and so it’s a new opportunity to explore.

perhaps you just like to hear others discuss, that is ok as well!

anyone, from any walk of life, is welcome to come and join us.

Just turn up and see how you get along!

Who will be heading it up?

Meet John and Angie Parkin. John is a retired vicar. Both have worked side by side in various churches over the years and most notably St Lukes in Gellideg before retiring.
